Indications
Perfalgan is indicated for the treatment of pain and fever in various clinical conditions. It is used in the management of mild to moderate pain, as well as in the treatment of fever in adult and pediatric patients. This medication is especially useful in postoperative situations where effective pain control is required, as well as in cases of fever associated with infections, viral diseases, or after vaccine administration. Its intravenous formulation allows for a rapid onset of action, which is advantageous in hospital settings.
Composition
Each Perfalgan ampoule contains 1 g of paracetamol in a sterile solution, in addition to excipients necessary for the formulation.
Contraindications
Perfalgan is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to paracetamol or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should also be avoided in patients with severe hepatic insufficiency or in those with serious diseases affecting liver function.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease, as well as in those who chronically consume alcohol. Additionally, the use of Perfalgan should be considered in patients with dehydration or hypovolemia, as it may increase the risk of renal toxicity. It is essential not to exceed the recommended dose to avoid the risk of hepatotoxicity.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
