Indications
Pepto Bismol Plus is indicated for the treatment of symptoms related to gastrointestinal disorders. Its use is effective in relieving upset stomach, nausea, indigestion, diarrhea, and a feeling of fullness. This medication works by forming a protective layer over the gastric mucosa, which helps reduce inflammation and protect the stomach lining. In addition, bismuth subsalicylate has antimicrobial properties that can help fight certain bacteria that contribute to diarrhea. It is important to follow medical instructions and not use this medication for prolonged periods without medical supervision.
Composition
Each 100 ml of suspension contains: 3.5 g of bismuth subsalicylate as the active ingredient. Excipients: purified water, flavorings and other inactive components.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to bismuth subsalicylate or any component of the formula. Its use is not recommended in children under 12 years of age without medical supervision, as well as in individuals with a history of peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding or severe kidney disease.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with kidney disease or those taking anticoagulants, as bismuth subsalicylate may increase the risk of bleeding. Likewise, it is advised not to use this medication during pregnancy or lactation without medical approval. In case of persistent symptoms or worsening of symptoms, a healthcare professional should be consulted.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
