Indications
Pepto Bismol Plus Diarrhea is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of acute and chronic diarrhea, as well as for the relief of stomach upset, nausea, and burning sensation in the stomach. Its action is based on the ability of bismuth subsalicylate to coat the gastric mucosa, providing protection and relieving irritation. It may also be useful in cases of diarrhea related to the ingestion of contaminated or irritating foods.
Composition
Each 100 ml of suspension contains: Bismuth subsalicylate 3.5 g. Excipients: purified water, flavorings, preservatives and colorants (specify according to the product).
Contraindications
Pepto Bismol Plus Diarrhea should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to bismuth subsalicylate or any of the excipients. It is contraindicated in cases of gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcerative colitis, and in children under 12 years of age without medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with kidney disease or those taking anticoagulants, as bismuth subsalicylate may interfere with coagulation. Likewise, prolonged use without medical supervision should be avoided, as it may cause adverse side effects. The recommended dose should not be exceeded, and it is important to consult a doctor if symptoms persist for more than 2 days.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
