Indications
Paxil CR is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorders, generalized anxiety disorders, panic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorders. Paroxetine works by selectively inhibiting serotonin reuptake in the brain, which helps improve mood and reduce anxiety. This medication is used in adults and in some specific cases in adolescents, always under medical supervision.
Composition
Each Paxil CR tablet contains 25 mg of paroxetine, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption. It is important to review the complete list of components to identify possible allergens or interactions.
Contraindications
Paxil CR is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to paroxetine or any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be used in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or in patients with antidepressant discontinuation syndrome. It is also contraindicated in pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless the benefit outweighs the potential risk.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Paxil CR to patients with a history of seizures, bipolar disorder, or those with a history of suicide or suicidal behavior. Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep the medication in its original packaging and out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
