Indications
Oralia is indicated for the prevention of unplanned pregnancy. This medication combines two hormones, dienogest and ethinylestradiol, which act synergistically to inhibit ovulation, alter cervical mucus, and modify the endometrium, thus reducing the probability of fertilization and ovum implantation. It is important that Oralia be used under the supervision of a physician, who can evaluate the specific conditions of each patient and recommend the most appropriate treatment.
Composition
Each Oralia tablet contains:
- Dienogest: 2 mg
- Ethinylestradiol: 0.03 mg
Contraindications
Oralia should not be used in patients with a history or presence of: deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, myocardial infarction, stroke, breast or endometrial cancer, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, among others. It is essential for the patient to inform their doctor about any pre-existing medical conditions before starting treatment.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with hypertension, diabetes, liver diseases, as well as in those who smoke and are over 35 years old, as they have a higher risk of adverse effects associated with the use of hormonal contraceptives. Additionally, regular medical check-ups are recommended during the use of the medication.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
