Indications

Openvas is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. It is used to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events associated with hypertension. The administration of olmesartan may be considered in patients with essential hypertension, as well as in those who require more effective blood pressure control. Additionally, it can be used as an add-on therapy in combination with other antihypertensives to achieve more optimal blood pressure control.

Composition

Each tablet contains 40 mg of olmesartan medoxomil, as well as excipients q.s. for the product's formulation.

Contraindications

Openvas is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to olmesartan or any of the product's excipients. It should not be administered to patients with a history of angioedema associated with previous treatment with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. It is also contraindicated in pregnant or breastfeeding women, and in patients with severe renal insufficiency.

Precautions

Caution is advised in patients with a history of liver disease, renal insufficiency, or dehydration. Furthermore, it should be used with care in patients who are receiving diuretics or in those who have renal artery stenosis. Blood pressure and renal function monitoring are recommended during treatment with Openvas.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
