Indications
Ociplos (Mirtazapine) is indicated for the treatment of major depressive episodes in adults. Its mechanism of action is based on the modulation of noradrenergic and serotonergic neurotransmission, which can contribute to improving mood and alleviating symptoms associated with depression. It may also be used in the treatment of generalized anxiety disorders and in some cases of sleep disorders, due to its sedative properties.
Composition
Each Ociplos tablet contains 30 mg of Mirtazapine as the active ingredient. Additionally, it contains excipients that give it the necessary properties for its pharmaceutical presentation.
Contraindications
Ociplos is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Mirtazapine or to any of the product's excipients. It is also contraindicated in patients receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) and in those with a history of serotonin syndrome.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Ociplos to patients with a history of seizure disorders, liver or kidney diseases, as well as in those with a history of mania or hypomania. It is important to monitor patients for the possible emergence of suicidal thoughts, especially at the start of treatment or with dose changes. The risk-benefit ratio should be evaluated in elderly patients or those taking other medications that affect the central nervous system.
Storage
Store Ociplos in its original packaging, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C and protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
