Indications
Nplate (romiplostim) is indicated for the treatment of thrombocytopenia in adult patients with chronic immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) who have not responded adequately to other treatments. This medication is used to increase the platelet count in the blood, which helps reduce the risk of bleeding in these patients. Its use should be considered in cases where other therapies have not proven effective, and the physician will evaluate the suitability of its administration according to the patient's clinical context.
Composition
Each Nplate ampule contains 250 mcg of romiplostim as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that facilitate its formulation and stability.
Contraindications
Nplate is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to romiplostim or any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with thrombocytopenia secondary to untreated causes that may be the cause of the thrombocytopenia.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Nplate to patients with a history of thrombosis, as this medication may increase the risk of thrombotic events. It is important to monitor platelet count and hematological function in patients undergoing treatment. Additionally, it is recommended to periodically assess the need to continue treatment and adjust the dose as necessary.
Storage
Store refrigerated at 2-8 °C. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
