Indications
Notix (Zolpidem) is indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia, characterized by difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep. This medication acts as a sedative hypnotic, helping to reduce the time it takes to fall asleep and to increase total sleep duration. Its use is recommended for adults experiencing occasional or transient insomnia, and it should be considered within the context of a comprehensive approach that includes non-pharmacological measures for insomnia management.
Composition
Each Notix tablet contains 10 mg of zolpidem. Additionally, it contains excipients: lactose, starch, magnesium stearate, and other inactive components that facilitate the formulation and absorption of the medication.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to zolpidem or any of the excipients. It should not be administered to patients with a history of obstructive sleep apnea, myasthenia gravis, severe respiratory failure, or in combination with other central nervous system depressants, without proper medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution is advised when using Notix in elderly or debilitated patients, as well as in those with a history of substance abuse or psychiatric disorders. It is important to avoid alcohol consumption during treatment with this medication, as it may potentiate its sedative effects.
