Indications

Norutec is indicated for the treatment of diseases related to excessive gastric acid production, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and peptic ulcer. Its action is based on the inhibition of the proton pump, which reduces acid secretion in the stomach. In addition, it is used in the eradication of Helicobacter pylori as part of a combined treatment regimen. It can also be indicated in cases of erosive esophagitis and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Composition

Each Norutec tablet contains 10 mg of ilaprazole as the active ingredient. Excipients: lactose, starch, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, and other inert excipients.

Contraindications

Norutec is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ilaprazole or any of the excipients in the formula. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other proton pump inhibitors.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with liver failure, as dose adjustments may be required. In addition, it is suggested to monitor patients who present persistent gastrointestinal symptoms, such as dysphagia or gastrointestinal bleeding. Prolonged use of Norutec may be associated with an increased risk of bone fractures and vitamin B12 deficiencies.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
