Indications
Norboral is indicated in the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (non-insulin-dependent diabetes) who cannot control their blood glucose levels with diet and exercise alone. This medication helps lower blood glucose levels by increasing insulin secretion from the pancreas and improving insulin sensitivity. It can also be used in combination with other oral antidiabetics or insulin for more effective glycemic control.
Composition
Each Norboral tablet contains 5 mg of glibenclamide as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients such as lactose, starch, and magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
Norboral is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to glibenclamide or any other component of the formula. It should not be administered in cases of type 1 diabetes mellitus (insulin-dependent diabetes), diabetic ketoacidosis, severe renal or hepatic insufficiency, or in patients who are being treated with other oral antidiabetics that may cause hypoglycemia. Its use during pregnancy and lactation must be evaluated by a physician.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of heart, liver, or kidney disease. It is important to regularly monitor blood glucose levels and adjust the dose as needed. Additionally, care should be taken when administering this medication in combination with other agents that may induce hypoglycemia.
Storage
Store Norboral in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
