Indications
Nolvadex (Tamoxifen) is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with hormone-dependent breast cancer, both in early stages and in metastasis. This medication acts as a selective estrogen receptor modulator, blocking the effects of estrogen in breast tissue. It is also used in the prevention of breast cancer in women at high risk of developing the disease, as well as in the treatment of gynecomastia in men. It is important that the use of Nolvadex is supervised by a physician, given the complexity of oncological treatment and the individual characteristics of each patient.
Composition
Each Nolvadex tablet contains 10 mg of Tamoxifen, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Tamoxifen or any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be used in pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as in patients with a history of venous thromboembolism or active thromboembolic disease.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of liver disease, as Tamoxifen metabolism may be affected. Regular monitoring of the patient's health is important, including evaluation of liver function and monitoring for signs of thrombosis. Likewise, it is essential for the patient to inform their doctor about other medications they are using to avoid interactions.
