Indications
Neurontin (gabapentin) is indicated for the treatment of epilepsy in adults and children over 12 years of age as adjunctive therapy in partial seizures, with or without secondary generalization. It is also used for the treatment of neuropathic pain associated with central or peripheral nervous system injuries, as well as in the management of diabetic neuropathic pain. Gabapentin works by modulating the release of excitatory neurotransmitters, which contributes to the reduction of abnormal neuronal activity and pain relief. It is important to follow medical instructions for dosage and duration of treatment.
Composition
Each Neurontin capsule contains 300 mg of gabapentin, as well as excipients that ensure its stability and efficacy.
Contraindications
Neurontin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to gabapentin or any of the excipients in the formulation. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of depression or suicidal thoughts, as adverse events have been reported in this group of patients.
Precautions
Renal function should be assessed in patients before starting treatment, as gabapentin dosage may require adjustment in patients with renal impairment. Additionally, caution should be exercised in patients with a history of substance abuse, as gabapentin may have abuse potential. During treatment, possible adverse effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, or mood changes should be monitored.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
