Indications
Neugeron is indicated for the treatment of different types of epileptic seizures, including partial seizures and generalized tonic-clonic seizures. It is also used in the management of bipolar disorder and trigeminal neuralgia. Carbamazepine works by stabilizing neuronal membranes, which helps reduce neuronal excitability and control seizures. It is important that this medication be used under medical supervision, as its effectiveness and safety depend on the correct evaluation of the patient and monitoring of their response to treatment.
Composition
Each Neugeron tablet contains 200 mg of carbamazepine as an active ingredient. Additionally, it contains excipients such as starch, talc, and other components that facilitate its formulation and absorption.
Contraindications
Neugeron is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to carbamazepine or any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of atrioventricular block, nor in those undergoing treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
Precautions
Special caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver, kidney, or hematological disease, as well as in those with a history of depression or suicidal thoughts. Regular monitoring of hematological and hepatological parameters is recommended during treatment. Abrupt discontinuation of the medication can lead to an increase in the frequency of epileptic seizures.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
