Indications

Neogynon is indicated for pregnancy prevention in women of childbearing age. Its use is recommended as a combined hormonal contraceptive method, which works by inhibiting ovulation, altering cervical mucus, and modifying the endometrium to prevent implantation. Additionally, it can be used to regulate menstrual cycles and treat menstrual disorders, such as dysmenorrhea. It is suggested that treatment should be supervised by a physician, who can assess the suitability of using this medication based on the patient's medical history.

Composition

Each tablet contains: Levonorgestrel 0.25 mg and Ethinylestradiol 0.05 mg. Excipients: Lactose, starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others.

Contraindications

Neogynon is contraindicated in women with a history of venous or arterial thromboembolism, cardiovascular diseases, breast cancer or a history of hormone-dependent cancer, severe liver diseases, among other conditions. Its use is not recommended in women with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula.

Precautions

Risk factors such as obesity, smoking, hypertension, and family history of thromboembolic diseases should be considered. It is important that the patient reports any medication they are taking, as some may interfere with the effectiveness of the contraceptive. Regular medical check-ups are required to assess the tolerance and effectiveness of the treatment.
