Indications
Nebido is indicated for the treatment of male hypogonadism, which can be primary or secondary. It is used in adult men for the treatment of conditions associated with testosterone deficiency, which may include decreased sexual desire, fatigue, depression, and loss of muscle mass. It can also be used in certain cases of gynecomastia and as part of the treatment for osteoporosis in men with testosterone deficiency. Additionally, it may be indicated in patients with certain endocrine conditions requiring hormone replacement therapy.
Composition
Each ampule of Nebido contains 1000 mg of testosterone undecanoate dissolved in an oily vehicle. Additionally, it may contain excipients that facilitate drug administration.
Contraindications
Nebido is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to testosterone or any component of the formula. It should not be used in patients with prostate or breast cancer in men, as well as in those with severe liver diseases, kidney failure, or decompensated heart diseases. It is also contraindicated in patients with untreated sleep apnea.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, or coagulation disorders. Regular monitoring of testosterone levels and hematological parameters is recommended during treatment. It is important to evaluate liver and prostate function before starting treatment and to perform periodic checks during its use.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children.
