Indications
Napicil is indicated for the treatment of patients with primary hypercholesterolemia (type IIa) and mixed dyslipidemia (type IIb), when the response to diet and other non-pharmacological treatments is insufficient. This medication is used in combination with diet to reduce high levels of total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol in the blood, as well as to increase HDL cholesterol levels. It is also indicated for reducing the risk of cardiovascular events in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and other conditions that increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Composition
Each Napicil tablet contains: 20 mg of atorvastatin and 10 mg of ezetimibe as active ingredients. Excipients: corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Napicil is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the components of the formula, active liver disease, persistent elevation of transaminases, and during pregnancy and lactation. Its use is not recommended in patients with myopathy or a history of rhabdomyolysis.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver disease, excessive alcohol consumption, or in those taking other medications that may increase the risk of myopathy. It is recommended to monitor blood transaminase levels before and during treatment. It is important to inform the doctor about any other medication the patient is taking to avoid interactions.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry and cool place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
