Indications
Mucovibrol is indicated for the treatment of respiratory diseases involving the production of viscous secretions, such as acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This medication acts as a mucolytic, facilitating mucus clearance and improving respiratory function. Its use is recommended in patients with productive cough, helping to reduce sputum viscosity and facilitating its expulsion. Additionally, it can be used as an adjunct in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures where adequate airway clearance is required.
Composition
Each Mucovibrol tablet contains 30 mg of Ambroxol as the active ingredient, as well as excipients necessary for the tablet formulation.
Contraindications
Mucovibrol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ambroxol or any other component of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with active gastric or duodenal ulcers.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with asthma, as the use of ambroxol may cause bronchoconstriction in some cases. Regular medical monitoring is important in patients with liver or kidney diseases, as well as in those undergoing concomitant pharmacological treatment. In pregnant or breastfeeding women, the risk-benefit should be evaluated before administration.
