Indications
Mucosolvan Dual Adult is indicated for the treatment of symptoms associated with respiratory diseases that involve coughing and mucus secretion. It is used in cases of bronchitis, pneumonia, and other respiratory disorders where effective management of dry cough and elimination of mucous secretions is required. This medication combines the properties of dextromethorphan, an antitussive that acts on the central nervous system to suppress the cough reflex, and ambroxol, a mucolytic that facilitates expectoration by reducing mucus viscosity and improving its elimination. Its use is recommended for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
Composition
Each 5 ml of syrup contains: Dextromethorphan (225 mg) and Ambroxol (225 mg).
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe respiratory diseases, such as decompensated bronchial asthma or those with respiratory failure. Likewise, it should not be administered in combination with other antitussives without medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering this medication to patients with a history of liver or kidney disease. If symptoms persist for more than 5 days or high fever occurs, a doctor should be consulted. This medication should not be used in cases of productive cough, as it may hinder the elimination of mucus.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
