Indications

Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) is indicated as a treatment for type 2 diabetes in adults. This medication acts as a dual GLP-1 and GIP receptor agonist, which helps improve glycemic control by stimulating glucose-dependent insulin secretion, decreasing glucagon secretion, and delaying gastric emptying. Its use is recommended in combination with an appropriate diet and exercise to achieve optimal blood glucose control. Additionally, Mounjaro has been observed to contribute to weight reduction in overweight or obese patients, which is beneficial for the comprehensive management of type 2 diabetes.

Composition

Each Mounjaro pre-filled pen contains 10 mg of Tirzepatide per 0.6 ml of injectable solution.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of pancreatitis or pancreatic disease, as well as in those with hypersensitivity to tirzepatide or any of the excipients. Its use is not recommended in patients with type 1 diabetes or for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Mounjaro in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease, as it may cause adverse effects such as nausea and vomiting. Additionally, renal function should be assessed before starting treatment, as impaired renal function may affect drug metabolism. It is important to monitor blood glucose to avoid episodes of hypoglycemia, especially in patients receiving other antidiabetic medications.

Storage

Store in a refrigerator between 2 °C and 8 °C. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.

  1. Free home delivery by local branches on orders over $1000. Otherwise, a $50 fee will be added in the cities of Querétaro and La Paz, BCS, and $150 in San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, BCS.
  2. FREE national shipping via ground on orders over $1,500.00. Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
