Indications
Motrin is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate pain, including headache, dental pain, muscle pain, and pain associated with inflammatory conditions such as arthritis. It is also used to reduce fever in adults and children. Ibuprofen works by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, which contributes to its analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects.
Composition
Each Motrin tablet contains 400 mg of ibuprofen as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients such as corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, and magnesium stearate, which aid in the formulation of the medicine.
Contraindications
Motrin is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to ibuprofen or any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered in cases of active gastric or duodenal ulcers, severe renal failure, or bleeding disorders. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of asthma or allergic reactions to other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Precautions
Cautious use of Motrin is recommended in patients with a history of cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, or gastrointestinal problems. It is suggested not to exceed the recommended dose and to avoid prolonged use without medical supervision. If adverse symptoms appear, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
