Indications

Minitran (glyceryl trinitrate) is indicated for the treatment of chronic angina pectoris and the preventive treatment of anginal episodes. Additionally, it can be used in congestive heart failure as part of a comprehensive therapeutic regimen. This drug acts as a vasodilator, helping to reduce the heart's workload and improve blood circulation. Its use is recommended for patients who require adequate angina control and who do not respond adequately to other antianginal treatments. It is important that the use of this medication be supervised by a healthcare professional, who can adjust the dose and frequency of application according to the patient's specific needs.

Composition

Each Minitran patch contains 18 mg of glyceryl trinitrate, as well as excipients necessary for the product's formulation, which allow for controlled release of the active ingredient through the skin.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to glyceryl trinitrate or other nitrates. It should not be used in cases of severe hypotension, severe anemia, hypovolemia, and in patients who are being treated with phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors. Likewise, its use in patients with unstable acute myocardial infarction is contraindicated.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of headache, intracranial hypertension, and in those with cardiovascular diseases. It is important to monitor blood pressure and evaluate the clinical response during treatment. The concomitant use of other medications that may affect blood pressure should be evaluated by a doctor.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the box.
