Indications
Minipres (prazosin) is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension and can be used in the management of congestive heart failure. Prazosin acts as a selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist, which causes vasodilation and a decrease in peripheral vascular resistance. Its use has been associated with a reduction in blood pressure, improving the quality of life of hypertensive patients.
Composition
Each Minipres capsule contains 1 mg of prazosin, as well as excipients necessary for the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Minipres is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to prazosin or to any of the product's excipients. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of severe orthostatism and in those with severe hepatic insufficiency.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using Minipres in patients with a history of renal insufficiency, coronary heart disease, or in those who are receiving other antihypertensive medications, as it may increase the risk of hypotension. It is advisable to initiate treatment with low doses and adjust according to clinical response. Additionally, blood pressure should be monitored regularly.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
