Indications

Mimpara (cinacalcet) is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with secondary hyperparathyroidism associated with stage 5 chronic kidney disease, in patients undergoing dialysis. It is also used for the treatment of hypocalcemia in patients with hypoparathyroidism syndrome and for reducing blood calcium levels in patients with parathyroid carcinoma. Its mechanism of action is based on sensitizing calcium receptors in the parathyroid gland, which results in a decrease in parathyroid hormone (PTH) secretion and, consequently, a reduction in serum calcium levels.

Composition

Each Mimpara tablet contains 30 mg of cinacalcet, in addition to excipients necessary for the product's formulation.

Contraindications

Mimpara is contraindicated in patients with hypocalcemia, as well as in those who have hypersensitivity to cinacalcet or any of the formulation's components. Special care should be taken in patients with a history of seizures.

Precautions

It is recommended to monitor serum calcium levels before starting treatment and during therapy, especially in patients who are receiving other medications that may affect calcium metabolism. Likewise, caution should be exercised in patients with a history of seizure disorders.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep the product in its original packaging and out of the reach of children.
