Indications
Micostatin (Nystatin) is indicated for the treatment of fungal infections caused by susceptible fungi, especially in cases of oral and esophageal candidiasis and other mucosal fungal infections. It is also used in the prevention of fungal infections in immunocompromised patients, as well as in the prophylaxis of infections in surgical procedures. This medication acts locally in the gastrointestinal tract and is not significantly absorbed into the systemic circulation, making it suitable for the treatment of superficial infections.
Composition
Each mL of suspension contains 100,000 units of Nystatin. Excipients: purified water, glycerin, and other excipients.
Contraindications
Micostatin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Nystatin or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients who have experienced previous adverse reactions to this medication.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, as prolonged use of antifungals may alter normal intestinal flora. It should not be used for systemic infections as Micostatin is not indicated for such use. In case of adverse reactions, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
