Indications
Micardis Duo is indicated for the treatment of high blood pressure in adults. The combination of Telmisartan and Amlodipine works complementarily to effectively lower blood pressure. Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, helps relax blood vessels, while Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, decreases peripheral vascular resistance. This medication is prescribed for patients who do not achieve adequate blood pressure control with monotherapy and may benefit from a combination of both active ingredients.
Composition
Each tablet contains 40 mg of Telmisartan and 10 mg of Amlodipine.
Contraindications
Micardis Duo is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Telmisartan or Amlodipine, as well as in those with a history of angioedema. It is also contraindicated in pregnant and breastfeeding women. It should not be administered in cases of severe hepatic impairment or in patients with bilateral renal artery stenosis.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with heart failure, liver or kidney diseases, as well as in those with a history of hypotension. The use of Micardis Duo should be carefully evaluated in elderly patients and in those taking other antihypertensive medications.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
