Indications
Micardis is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. It can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensives. Blood pressure reduction helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications in hypertensive patients, as well as improve renal function in patients with type 2 diabetes and kidney disease. In addition, Micardis may be beneficial in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases in patients with risk factors.
Composition
Each Micardis tablet contains 80 mg of telmisartan as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that allow for the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Micardis is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to telmisartan or any of the excipients. It should not be administered to pregnant or breastfeeding women, or in patients with a history of angioedema associated with prior treatment with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of hepatic or renal insufficiency, or in those who are undergoing diuretic treatment. It is important to monitor renal function and blood potassium levels during treatment. The possibility of hypotension should be considered in dehydrated patients or those with reduced intravascular volume.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
