Indications

Metrogel is indicated for the treatment of rosacea, a chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by facial redness, papules, and pustules. This medication is used to reduce the signs and symptoms associated with rosacea, including redness, inflammation, and acne-like lesions. It is recommended to apply the gel to the affected areas of the skin, following the prescribing physician's instructions to achieve an adequate therapeutic response. Additionally, it may be beneficial in the treatment of other dermatological conditions as per medical evaluation.

Composition

Each 100 g of Metrogel contains 75 g of metronidazole. Excipients: purified water, glycerin, carbomer, triethanolamine, among others.

Contraindications

Metrogel should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to metronidazole or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Likewise, its use should be avoided in areas of the skin with open wounds or burns. Its application on mucous membranes or in the eyes is not recommended.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when using Metrogel in patients with a history of neurological disorders, as well as in those receiving concomitant treatments that may affect the nervous system. Prolonged exposure to sunlight should be avoided during treatment, as it may increase the risk of skin irritation.

Store at room temperature, in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
