Indications
Meladinina is indicated for the treatment of sleep disorders, as well as for the management of insomnia in adult patients. Its use has been extended to improve sleep quality, especially in those who have difficulty initiating and maintaining sleep. Additionally, it has been used in some cases for phototherapy in patients with psoriasis, as methoxsalen enhances the effects of ultraviolet light in the treatment of this skin condition.
Composition
Each Meladinina tablet contains 10 mg of methoxsalen as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption. It is essential to review the list of excipients to avoid reactions in patients with allergies to certain components.
Contraindications
Meladinina should not be administered to patients with known hypersensitivity to methoxsalen or any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of liver disease, as well as in those with hematological disorders. Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution is important in patients with a history of kidney or cardiovascular disease. Careful monitoring is recommended in patients taking other medications that may interact with methoxsalen, as well as avoiding prolonged sun exposure during treatment due to the risk of photosensitivity.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of reach of children. Storage temperature should not exceed 30 °C.
