Indications
Maxitrol is indicated for the treatment of ocular infections that require an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory medication. It is used for the treatment of conditions such as bacterial conjunctivitis, blepharitis, and other ocular surface infections, as well as for the management of ocular inflammation associated with trauma or surgery. It is effective in reducing symptoms of redness, itching, and edema in the eyes, as well as in preventing bacterial infections in situations where ocular inflammation is present.
Composition
Each ml of Maxitrol contains:
- Neomycin (3.5 mg)
- Polymyxin B (6000 U)
- Dexamethasone (1 mg)
- Excipients q.s.p. to 1 ml.
Contraindications
Maxitrol is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in viral, fungal, or tuberculous ocular infections. It should not be used in patients with closed-angle glaucoma and in those with corneal lesions due to herpes simplex.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with systemic diseases requiring the use of corticosteroids. In addition, prolonged use of the product should be avoided to prevent the development of bacterial resistance. Regular medical follow-up is important for patients using Maxitrol for extended periods.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Keep the bottle tightly closed and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
