Indications
Masennus (Atomoxetine) is indicated for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children, adolescents, and adults. Atomoxetine acts as a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, which helps improve attention and impulse control in patients diagnosed with ADHD. Its mechanism of action focuses on neurotransmitter regulation, contributing to better concentration and reduced hyperactivity. It is important that treatment be part of a comprehensive program that includes psychosocial and educational interventions.
Composition
Each Masennus capsule contains 40 mg of atomoxetine as the active ingredient. Additionally, it contains excipients that facilitate the formulation and stability of the product.
Contraindications
Masennus is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to atomoxetine or any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with a history of pheochromocytoma or those who are receiving treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Masennus to patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, or severe psychiatric disorders. Blood pressure and heart rate should be monitored during treatment. Furthermore, it is essential to assess the risk of suicidal ideation or behavior, especially in young people and adolescents.
