Indications
M-M-R II is indicated for active immunization against measles, mumps, and rubella in children and adults who have not been previously vaccinated or have not had these diseases. This vaccine is recommended from 12 months of age, and is administered in two doses: the first dose is given between 12 and 15 months, and the second dose between 4 and 6 years of age. It is important to ensure that the target population receives adequate vaccination to maintain collective immunity and prevent outbreaks of these infectious diseases.
Composition
Each 0.5 ml dose of M-M-R II contains: Attenuated measles, mumps, and rubella viruses, as well as appropriate excipients to ensure the stability and efficacy of the vaccine.
Contraindications
This vaccine is contraindicated in individuals who are hypersensitive to any component of the vaccine or to a previous dose of M-M-R II. It is also contraindicated in immunocompromised individuals, as the vaccine contains live attenuated viruses that could cause disease in these patients. It should not be administered during pregnancy.
Precautions
Caution is advised when administering the vaccine to individuals with a history of seizures, neurological diseases, or those who have received immunosuppressive treatment. The physician should be informed of any acute or chronic illness that may affect the patient's immune response.
Storage
The M-M-R II vaccine must be stored refrigerated, between 2°C and 8°C, and must not be frozen. It must be protected from light and used before the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
