Indications

Lyrica (Pregabalin) is indicated for the treatment of various conditions, including diabetic neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, and the management of generalized anxiety disorder. Additionally, it is used as adjunctive therapy in the treatment of partial seizures in patients with epilepsy. Pregabalin works by modulating the release of excitatory neurotransmitters, which helps reduce neuronal excitability and provides effective relief from neuropathic pain. Its use in chronic pain management has been shown to improve patients' quality of life by reducing the severity of symptoms associated with these conditions. In patients with epilepsy, therapy with Lyrica has proven effective in reducing the frequency of seizures in combination with other antiepileptic drugs.

Composition

Each 100 ml of oral solution contains 2000 mg of pregabalin. Excipients: Purified water, glycerin, citric acid, potassium sorbate, among others.

Contraindications

Lyrica is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pregabalin or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use during pregnancy and lactation should be carefully evaluated, and its administration is not recommended in children under 18 years of age due to the lack of adequate studies in this population.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Lyrica to patients with a history of substance abuse, as there is a potential for dependence. Patients should also be monitored for possible adverse effects such as somnolence, dizziness, and confusion, especially at the beginning of treatment. Furthermore, the dose should be adjusted in patients with renal impairment.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
