Indications
Lyrica (Pregabalin) is indicated for the treatment of diabetic neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, and as adjunctive therapy for partial onset seizures in adults with epilepsy. It is also used for the management of generalized anxiety disorder and chronic pain associated with fibromyalgia. Pregabalin has been shown to help reduce pain sensation and improve the quality of life for patients suffering from these conditions.
Composition
Each Lyrica capsule contains 50 mg of Pregabalin as the active ingredient. Excipients include: gelatin, titanium dioxide, colorants (sunset yellow and others), and other inactive excipients that facilitate drug formulation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Pregabalin or to any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal insufficiency, as well as in those with a history of substance abuse.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Lyrica to patients with a history of depression or mood disorders, as well as those with moderate renal impairment. It is important to monitor any changes in patient behavior, as an increased risk of suicidal thoughts has been reported in some cases. Additionally, abrupt discontinuation of treatment is recommended to prevent withdrawal symptoms.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
