Indications
Lyrica is indicated for the treatment of diabetic neuropathy, which is a type of nerve damage caused by diabetes. It is also used in the management of neuropathic pain associated with spinal cord injuries and in the treatment of fibromyalgia, a disorder that causes widespread pain and fatigue. Pregabalin is effective in reducing the frequency of seizures in adults with partial epilepsy and in the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder.
Composition
Each Lyrica tablet contains:
- Pregabalin: 25 mg
- Excipients: Lactose monohydrate, corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pregabalin or to any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal insufficiency without appropriate medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of substance abuse, as well as in those with renal insufficiency or heart problems. It is important to monitor patients for signs of depression or behavioral changes, especially at the start of treatment. Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
