Indications

Luvox is indicated for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in adults and children over 8 years of age. It is also used in the treatment of social anxiety disorder (social phobia) and major depression. Its action is based on the selective inhibition of serotonin reuptake, which helps to improve mood and reduce anxiety and obsessive symptoms in patients.

Composition

Each tablet contains 100 mg of fluvoxamine as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption. For a complete list of excipients, consult the product leaflet.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fluvoxamine, as well as in those receiving treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or in those who have presented with serotonin syndrome. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of uncontrolled seizures.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Luvox to patients with a history of manic or bipolar disorders, as well as in those with liver or kidney problems. Patients should be monitored for the appearance of suicidal thoughts, especially at the beginning of treatment or when adjusting the dose. Alcohol consumption should be avoided during treatment.

Storage

Store the medication at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
