Indications
Lunarium is indicated for the treatment of functional gastrointestinal disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome, which is characterized by abdominal pain and changes in bowel habits. The combination of pinaverium bromide, an antispasmodic, and dimethicone, an antiflatulent agent, helps relieve symptoms associated with abdominal distension and gastrointestinal discomfort. This medication works by reducing the spasm of the smooth muscles of the intestine and facilitating the elimination of accumulated gases, which provides a calming effect on the digestive tract.
Composition
Each Lunarium capsule contains:
- Pinaverium Bromide: 100 mg
- Dimethicone: 300 mg
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. Its use should also be avoided in cases of intestinal obstruction or severe renal insufficiency, as well as in patients with pathological conditions that may be aggravated by the use of antispasmodics.
Precautions
Lunarium should be used with caution in patients with a history of digestive tract diseases, such as colitis or inflammatory bowel disease. Special care should also be taken when using this medication in elderly patients or those with intestinal motility problems. It is essential to consult a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen after treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
