Indications
Lozam (Lorazepam) is indicated for the treatment of anxiety disorders, insomnia, and as pre-medication in surgical or diagnostic procedures requiring sedation. This medication has an anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, sedative, and muscle relaxant effect, making it a therapeutic option in the management of conditions where anxiety reduction is paramount. It may also be useful in the treatment of withdrawal symptoms in patients with substance dependence.
Composition
Each Lozam tablet contains: Lorazepam 2 mg.
Contraindications
Lozam should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to lorazepam or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It is contraindicated in patients with sleep apnea syndrome, severe respiratory insufficiency, myasthenia gravis, and in those with a history of substance abuse. Its use should also be avoided during pregnancy and lactation, unless deemed essential by the treating physician.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Lozam to patients with a history of depression, pulmonary diseases, or those taking other medications that may depress the central nervous system. Prolonged use can lead to dependence, and abrupt discontinuation of treatment can cause withdrawal symptoms. A risk-benefit assessment is recommended for elderly or debilitated patients.

Store at room temperature, in a dry place, away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
