Indications

Lincocin is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by lincomycin-susceptible microorganisms. It is particularly useful in cases of skin and soft tissue infections, as well as respiratory system infections, including anaerobic pneumonia and other severe infections. It is also used in the treatment of osteomyelitis and in infections caused by penicillin-resistant staphylococci. This medication is effective in penicillin-allergic patients, as it serves as an alternative in the management of these infections. Lincocin acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, which results in the death of pathogenic bacteria. It is important that the use of this antibiotic be under appropriate medical supervision, considering the possibility of adverse effects and the need for clinical monitoring.

Composition

Each Lincocin syringe contains 300 mg of lincomycin as lincomycin hydrochloride and excipients.

Contraindications

Lincocin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to lincomycin or any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with a history of antibiotic-associated colitis, as well as those with severe gastrointestinal diseases.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with hepatic or renal insufficiency, as well as in those with a history of gastrointestinal diseases. It is advisable to perform liver and kidney function tests before starting treatment and during its use. The administration of Lincocin can cause adverse effects such as diarrhea, which may be a sign of pseudomembranous colitis, so the patient should be monitored for gastrointestinal symptoms.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
