Indications
Lefebre (Naloxone) is indicated for the treatment of opioid overdose, as well as for the reversal of the sedative effects of opioids in emergency situations. This medication is crucial in the management of patients who have presented respiratory depression or altered consciousness due to opioid intake. It is important to note that naloxone can be used in urgent situations, where rapid intervention is essential for the patient's recovery. Its use may be considered in the context of anesthesia, where the reversal of opioid effects administered during the surgical procedure is required.
Composition
Each ampule of Lefebre contains 0.40 mg of Naloxone in a sterile solution.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to naloxone or any other component of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of anaphylactic reactions to opioids, as this could worsen their clinical condition.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Lefebre to patients with cardiovascular diseases, as naloxone can induce withdrawal symptoms in opioid-dependent patients. Furthermore, its use should be monitored in situations where the presence of other central nervous system depressants is suspected, due to the possibility of drug interactions. Naloxone administration should be accompanied by continuous evaluation of the patient's condition.
