Indications
Lantus Solostar is a long-acting insulin indicated for the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults and children. This medication is designed to provide effective glycemic control throughout the day and night, allowing for the normalization of blood glucose levels. Its use is recommended in patients who require insulin to control their diabetes and in those who do not achieve adequate control with oral medications. Insulin glargine can be used in combination with other oral antidiabetic drugs or rapid-acting insulins to optimize diabetes management.
Composition
Each mL of Lantus Solostar contains 100 units of insulin glargine, as well as excipients such as water for injection, hydrochloric acid, and sodium hydroxide.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to insulin glargine or to any of the excipients. It should not be used during episodes of hypoglycemia or in patients with uncontrolled diabetes requiring intensive treatment.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with liver or kidney diseases, as well as in those with a history of severe hypoglycemia. It is important to monitor blood glucose levels regularly and adjust the dose according to individual needs. There may be variability in insulin response among different patients, so dose adjustments under medical supervision are recommended.
Storage
Lantus Solostar should be stored in refrigeration between 2°C and 8°C. Do not freeze. Once opened, it can be stored at room temperature (25°C) for a period of 28 days. Keep out of reach of children.

- FREE national shipping via ground on orders over $1,500.00. Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
