Indications
Lamobrigan (Escitalopram) is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorders and generalized anxiety disorders. This medication acts as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), which helps to increase serotonin levels in the brain, thereby improving mood and reducing anxiety. It is also used in the treatment of panic disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The effectiveness of escitalopram in managing these disorders has been supported by multiple clinical studies, demonstrating its ability to relieve symptoms and improve patients' quality of life. It is important that treatment be carried out under medical supervision to adjust the dose and monitor for possible adverse effects.
Composition
Each Lamobrigan tablet contains 10 mg of escitalopram as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients such as microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and other components that facilitate the formulation and administration of the medication.
Contraindications
Lamobrigan is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to escitalopram or any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days of discontinuing an MAOI, due to the risk of serotonin syndrome. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of long QT syndrome or who are being treated with medications that prolong the QT interval.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Lamobrigan to patients with a history of manic disorders, suicide risk, or liver and kidney problems. A careful evaluation and periodic follow-up during treatment are essential. It is recommended to avoid alcohol consumption and other central nervous system depressants, as they may potentiate the sedative effects of escitalopram.
Storage
Lamobrigan should be stored at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
