Indications
Lamisil is indicated for the treatment of fungal infections of the skin and nails caused by dermatophyte fungi and yeasts. It is used in the management of onychomycosis (fungal nail infection) and tinea (fungal skin infection). This medication works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, which results in the death of the fungus and the resolution of the infection. It is important that the treatment is carried out for the recommended time to ensure complete eradication of the infection.
Composition
Each Lamisil tablet contains 250 mg of terbinafine as terbinafine hydrochloride and excipients.
Contraindications
The use of Lamisil is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to terbinafine or to any of the components of the formulation. It should also be avoided in patients with active liver disease or a history of severe liver disease, as well as in those with metabolic disorders affecting drug use.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver or kidney disease, as well as in those taking other medications that may affect liver function. It is advisable to perform liver function tests before and during treatment in patients who present symptoms of liver dysfunction. Lamisil is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation unless strictly necessary and under appropriate medical supervision.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
