Indications
Krytantek Ofteno is a medication indicated for the treatment of intraocular hypertension in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. This drug combines three agents: Dorzolamide, a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor that decreases the production of aqueous humor; Timolol, a beta-blocker that reduces the production of aqueous humor in the eye; and Brimonidine, an alpha-2 adrenergic agonist that also reduces the production of aqueous humor and increases its drainage. This combination allows for an additive effect in lowering intraocular pressure, improving treatment efficacy in patients who do not respond adequately to monotherapies.
Composition
Each ml of Krytantek Ofteno contains: Dorzolamide (20 mg), Timolol (5 mg), Brimonidine (2 mg) and excipients q.s.p. 1 ml.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those with severe obstructive pulmonary diseases, severe bradycardia, untreated second or third-degree heart block, and in patients with severe renal insufficiency.
Precautions
Krytantek Ofteno should be used with caution in patients with a history of cardiac, respiratory, or vascular diseases. Care should also be taken in patients using other glaucoma treatments to avoid an additive effect that could cause excessive ocular hypotension. Regular monitoring of intraocular pressure during treatment is advised.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children.
