Indications
Koptin is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections in various parts of the body. It is commonly used in the treatment of respiratory infections, such as sinusitis and pneumonia, as well as skin and soft tissue infections. It is also prescribed for the management of sexually transmitted infections, such as urethritis and cervicitis caused by Chlamydia trachomatis. Additionally, it can be used in the treatment of Mycobacterium avium infections in HIV patients. Azithromycin, the active ingredient in Koptin, works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, which contributes to the elimination of the bacteria causing the infection.
Composition
Each tablet contains 500 mg of Azithromycin, as well as excipients necessary for the formulation of the medicine.
Contraindications
Koptin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Azithromycin or to any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of severe hepatic dysfunction.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiac arrhythmias, liver, or kidney problems. It is important to monitor patients who are being treated with other medications that may interact with Azithromycin. Regular medical follow-up is suggested during treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
