Indications
Kombiglyze XR is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It is used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in patients who have not achieved adequate control with metformin alone or in combination with other oral antidiabetic drugs. This medication can be administered in combination with insulin and other oral antidiabetic agents. It is recommended for patients with a history of cardiovascular disease or those at high risk, as it may provide additional benefits in reducing cardiovascular events.
Composition
Each Kombiglyze XR tablet contains 5 mg of Saxagliptin and 1000 mg of Metformin as active ingredients. Additionally, it contains excipients that facilitate the formulation of the product.
Contraindications
Kombiglyze XR is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It is also contraindicated in those with advanced kidney disease, hepatic insufficiency, lactic acidosis, and in situations of severe dehydration, severe infections, or in a state of shock.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Kombiglyze XR in patients with a history of pancreatitis, moderate renal dysfunction, or in those who are being treated with other drugs that may affect renal function. It is important to monitor renal function regularly. Dose adjustment is recommended in elderly patients and those at risk of hypoglycemia.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
