Indications
Kombiglyze XR is indicated as a treatment for adult patients with type 2 diabetes. It is used to improve glycemic control in combination with diet and exercise. This medication can be prescribed as monotherapy or in combination with other oral antidiabetics, when diet and exercise alone are not sufficient to control blood glucose. It is particularly useful in patients who have not achieved their glycemic goals with metformin alone. Kombiglyze XR works by decreasing glucose production by the liver and increasing insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues, which contributes to the reduction of blood glucose levels.
Composition
Each Kombiglyze XR tablet contains 2.5 mg of Saxagliptin and 1000 mg of Metformin.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of its components, as well as in those with severe kidney disease, lactic acidosis, or conditions that predispose to lactic acidosis. Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation, unless specifically indicated by a doctor.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of pancreatitis, moderate kidney disease, heart failure, or in patients taking other medications that may affect kidney function. It is important to regularly monitor glucose levels and kidney function.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures between 15°C and 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
