Indications

Klaricid OD is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by clarithromycin-susceptible microorganisms. These include, but are not limited to, upper and lower respiratory tract infections such as sinusitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, and pneumonia. It is also used in the treatment of skin and soft tissue infections, as well as in the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in patients with peptic ulcers. Clarithromycin works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, which results in the death of bacteria.

Composition

Each Klaricid OD tablet contains 500 mg of clarithromycin as the active ingredient. In addition, it contains excipients such as microcrystalline cellulose, starch, and other components that facilitate the formulation and stability of the product.

Contraindications

It should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to clarithromycin, other macrolide antibiotics, or any component of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of severe liver disease or in those receiving medications that interact significantly with clarithromycin.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with liver or kidney disease, as well as in those with cardiac arrhythmias. It is important to monitor patients who are being treated with other drugs that may interfere with clarithromycin metabolism, as this may increase the risk of adverse effects.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
