Indications

Klaricid (Clarithromycin) is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. It is used in the management of upper and lower respiratory tract infections, including sinusitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, and pneumonia. It is also used for skin and soft tissue infections, as well as for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in patients with gastric ulcers. Additionally, it can be used for infection prophylaxis in immunocompromised patients.

Composition

Each Klaricid vial contains 500 mg of Clarithromycin as the active ingredient. Excipients: water for injection, hydrochloric acid, among others.

Contraindications

Klaricid is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Clarithromycin, other macrolide antibiotics, or any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment and in those receiving certain medications that may interact with Clarithromycin, such as protease inhibitors and some antifungals.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver or kidney disease, as well as in those taking other medications that may interact with Clarithromycin. Liver function monitoring is recommended for prolonged treatments. In case of adverse reactions, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor should be consulted.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
