Indications
Kitoscell is indicated for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Pirfenidone, its active ingredient, has proven effective in reducing disease progression and improving lung function. Continuous patient evaluation and monitoring of respiratory function are recommended during treatment. Additionally, Kitoscell may be considered in the management of conditions related to lung damage, although its use must be carefully evaluated and supervised by a healthcare professional.
Composition
Each Kitoscell tablet contains 600 mg of pirfenidone as an active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate the drug's formulation.
Contraindications
Kitoscell should not be administered to patients with known hypersensitivity to pirfenidone or any of the excipients in the formulation. Furthermore, it is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment and during pregnancy and lactation, unless strictly necessary and evaluated by a physician.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Kitoscell to patients with a history of liver diseases, as there may be an increase in liver enzyme levels. Regular monitoring of liver function is also recommended during treatment. Patients should be informed about the possibility of experiencing side effects, such as skin reactions, and should be advised to consult their doctor if any unusual symptoms appear.
